STOTES IN A DAY SUCCESS
We had a successful "Stotes in a Day" erg regatta this morning with West Springfield Crew! Three of our guys--Myles, Liam, and Carter got 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the A Final! Both teams hope to make this a regular winter training event in future years! Go TJ Crew!

🏊REQUIREMENTS: Athlete must be able to swim 100 yards, tread water for two (2) minutes and put on a flotation device while in the water. The swim test occurs at the Audrey Moore Rec Center (8100 Braddock Rd., Annandale, VA 22033).
Carpools are organized for the novices to get to the testing location ona. Friday after practice, and athletes may be picked up by parents as soon as they complete the test.
*Transportation is not provided for the makeup date.*

SPRING PRACTICES
BEGIN FEBRUARY 20
SIGN UP NOW (deadline is February 19) to row with the TJ Crew team on the water. Practices start on the water, at Sandy Run Regional Park, with the start of the spring sport season. For 2024, this will be on February 20th. Until this time, rowers have been training at crew winter conditioning or with their winter sport.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Rowers practice outdoors every weekday after school. Rowers depart school once school is let out or during 8th period B block on Wednesdays and Fridays. See our transportation page for information on getting to and from Sandy Run. Practices are also held on Saturdays, until the regatta season begins. All novices who are not on a Varsity boat will practice at Sandy Run everyday, except for Tuesdays. On Tuesday, novices will practice at TJ. See our full calendar here.

TJ Crew is in its 32st year and we have both Men’s and Women’s Teams. We have a history of excellence, including the National Champions for Women's Varsity 8 in 1996 and 1999, and Men's Varsity 8 in 2004, 2006, and 2007. Our Men's Novice 8 won the Virginia State Championship this past year, and our Women's Freshmen 8 won the Virginia State Championship the year before.
We have 100 team members, and no prior experience is required. Year round rowing opportunities are available. TJ Crew "Learn to Row" is available in the Fall. Then join us for Winter Training, before the main Spring season starts. Over the summer, University Rowing Camps are available and past TJ Rowers have gone on to row for many top universities. Join us and let's row together.

TJ Crew is a competitive rowing program affiliated with Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology. TJ Crew, which involves over 100 student-athletes, emphasizes hard work, discipline, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Though a varsity sport, the team receives no support from public or school funds. TJ Crew Boosters raises funds to support the team and to help meet expenses, including the cost of coaching and equipment.
